Nature takes centre stage at Nesco. We took up sustainability efforts right from our roots, planting over a thousand trees that are now fully grown and green. We registered with the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) to make our processes greener. According to our guidelines, we use water and energy judiciously. We are stringent about using only eco-friendly materials.
Moreover, most of our items are locally sourced, to reduce travel times and environmental impact. Supply chains and logistics both have been optimised. This year, we are looking at a further 20% reduction in our carbon footprint.

At Nesco Center, we are committed to thoughtfully recycle all the wet waste created at our facilities. As a self-sustained ecosystem, we are particular about not creating extra refuse for authorities to manage. All the wet waste produced is treated at our central composting plant. This is further converted to fertiliser cakes that are used within our campus. A vermiculture pit ensures additional enhancement of plant health.
The Bombay Exhibition Center sees thousands of walk-ins every day. On busy exhibition days, the number is often in the tens of thousands! Needless to mention, the washrooms are in constant use. At the BEC, a large portion of the water requirement is met by recycling. Water recycled in-house is diverted to flush tanks in all restrooms. The multiple Sewage Treatment Plants on location, enable the BEC to be a 0 discharge unit.
An extensive rainwater harvesting system is a part of our IT Park. Nesco Center utilises only 100% purified water from the MCGM pipelines. Water for drinking and domestic-use is filtered and softened. We follow processes that are close-to-nature in the large-scale filtration process.

Our sustainability milestones are recorded at specified intervals. Regular returns with scientific records are submitted to the MoEF /MPCB. We keep a vigil on building power consumption by comparing it with standard industry data collected by ASHRAE/ISHRAE/IGBC etc.
